→ Vibe Coding Reality Check

Vibe coding represents a shift where
the feeling of a product takes
precedence over traditional technical
rigor.

In fact, this frontend you might see right now is approximately 70% vibe-coded.

While high-level AI abstractions allow for rapid prototyping and aesthetic polish, they often mask underlying technical debt and
fragile logic.

→ notreallhereactually comments on Anthropic's Claude hits No. 2 on Apple's top free apps list after Pentagon rejection

Browsing Reddit and found this comment that greatly summarizes the whole Anthropic/Palantir situation. And it also makes OpenAI even more shady.

What you're looking at is a situation where a company raised legitimate safety concerns about how its technology was being used, those concerns were reported to the government by a partner with every incentive to do so, and the government responded with the most aggressive designation in its toolkit; it is one designed for Chinese telecom companies, not American AI startups. Then within the same news cycle, the government handed the resulting contract vacuum to a competitor that had quietly been positioning itself for exactly that outcome.

→ Marty Supreme (2025)

This movie was a rollercoaster ride. On the surface, it's the story of Marty Mouser, an ascending, narcissistic table tennis player in the 50s. And then it has several different layers of storytelling. It's fast, loud, and close. And it's a stylish movie with a great soundtrack, worth every Oscar it might get.

Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.

→ A cartoonist's review of AI art

Gosh, The Oatmeal was one of my favorite cartoonists back then™️. Then I stopped using an RSS Reader, and the bookmark was lost in a pile of bookmark folders.

And now, reading this comic of his reminded me why I love his style: because he sometimes has genuine takes on things, like in this take on AI!

I tried AI Art back then, when it was new, but after a few weeks of enthusiasm, I realized it was just the technology I found interesting, not the result.
AI Images are called slop because they are missing the soul and the intention of human minds.

There recently was a video by a German YouTuber called "Ultralativ" on this topic that described it best for me. He coined the phrase "It's good enough for you" ("Für euch reicht's"). And yes, that's it; it's called slop for a reason. People creating Ai Images and Videos do not value you, they are imposters out for a quick buck, knowing that we, the consumer, will swallow and consume it.

Maybe I will elaborate on this in a separate article.
